And it's done.

We're all fine.

JayZ laughed and giggled all day long, and snoozed, and pooped. The usual. He even "left me a message" on my home machine to say he was happy and giggled. It was soooo cute and made me smile.

I got up, ran 5 miles, got ready, and then we had to WAKE JAYZ UP (seriously. the kid rocks.) to take him to the sitter's. Yes, he slept ALL NIGHT.

I cried a little when I said bye, and when I first walked in my classroom. Just a teensy bit.

And then, it felt kinda good to be back. Just a teensy bit.

I got very busy, which made time fly. And then it was time to go.

A good friend said it best to me when he tried to describe what I (and what we) are feeling right now. He said it's a revolution of your heart and mind. I think that's the closest thing I can liken it to. My heart and mind have been completely, 100% rewired over the past four months. I never knew it was possible to love something so much.

So tomorrow, we do it all again. Except it's a tempo run in the morning.

And another big smile and giggle around 3:30.

Congrats on doing so well the first day back. I know for my wife it was hard to let go that first time, but it all works out.

I thought of you today and was hoping things went well. It certainly helps that your baby is super and lets you sleep! Not only is it amazing that you come love something that much -- but that you love them more and more every day. It's the best.
Have a great tempo run!

Ditto with Jenn P--you come to love them more and more every day..and then realize you have enough love for more than one if the time comes :)

I've read that going back to work is especially tough. But I'm glad the day went by quickly for you.

I'm glad he's letting you sleep through the night! He sounds like superbaby!!! :)

glad it went well and that each day will get better and better.

I was a wreck when my oldest son (he's now 28) left for college in michigan. but each day got better and better and now, with college way behind him, he's a great young man... we needed to let him fly.

you are letting Jay Z fly a little...
all the best

I am so far behind on blogging! I've been thinking about you going back to work, though, and I'm glad you made it through the first couple days. It isn't that bad at anymore for me, but it still tugs at my heartstrings each morning.
I am super impressed that you are waking up EARLY to run! And that JayZ is sleeping 10 hours! That gives me hope that in a month or so mine will, too!
