Can I please stop being ridiculous

....and give myself a freaking break?

Arg.

I'm angry because the scale hasn't moved in a week.

It moves 30 in 4 weeks, and then it doesn't move at week 5 and suddenly I am an EPIC FAILURE AT LIFE.

I know. This is ridiculous. As soon as I was able to run and work out after Jackson, it came off. But the past two days I have stared cursing at an inanimate object (the scale) and getting mad.

Mind you, I just gave birth less than six weeks ago. Perhaps I should CHILL THE FREAK OUT.

Bean is still fighting fighting fighting on the bottle, which really just stresses me out to no end. I hate hate hate that she hates it, because a) she hates it and I hate to listen to her scream and b) I am afraid I'll never get my freedom back nor leave the house for an extended period of time EVER AGAIN.

I know. Silly. She'll come around, eventually. She's not about to starve herself...the girl has about 18 chins and the pudgiest little legs ever--clearly she's doing just fine.

I have decided the best remedy for this is to go up to school to say hi to my kids, pick up some new running shoes at my favorite running shop, and buy my plane ticket to Chicago where I will then hitch a ride with Jacks and Soon-To-Be Mr. Jacks and head to WIBA in JULY! You should, too. It's going to be awesome.

In July, these last 30 will be history and she'll be taking a bottle like a pro, and I'm pretty sure I'll look back on this and laugh. Right?

Hang in there! It will all be fine, and while you might not laugh when you look back you'll at least be able to say - no worries, it all worked out!

Don't be so hard on yourself! Your progress is great. Don't know how much you have focused on nutrition, but maybe that's an area where you can get an edge. Some triathletes don't focus on that end of it as much, but just having gone through a 15-lb. weight loss in a few months with more focus on food intake, maybe give it a try if you haven't yet.

Oh...I'm sorry she's still having a hard time with the bottle. Just remember, when she gets hungry enough...she'll eat...even if it's from a bottle!

And, your weight will change...just give it time. You JUST had a baby!!

The way I always tried to see it was nine months up, nine months down. Give yourself a break is right!! :) It'll come off... I never took off a lot of weight until I totally stopped nursing. I think the body wants to keep on some fat so you can make the milk and keep baby thriving. She'll take that bottle soon, and then she will fall in love, and later you'll go through that horrible period where she won't allow you to take it away! Remember? :)

Sara, I've been reading for a long time but never commented. Congrats on the new baby - she's gorgeous. You _should_ stop being ridiculous! I know you know that it is really hard to lose weight when you are not sleeping! Body does not react well to that at all. I am sure it will start coming off again when you are getting more rest.

Those last few pounds will be history in no time! Promise! I hit that plateau as well and it drove me crazy, but once I got outside and could start moving they started to fall off again... and may I remind you that you gave birth ONLY 6 weeks ago for heaven's sake... sheesh! Go easy on yourself :) It's that competitive athlete in you...

You're not alone! I had a baby 5 weeks ago - I cruised through the weight loss for the 1st 4 weeks. Then I started running and I stopped losing weight. Awesome. Just be patient, right? You're really doing great!

Yes, right! You are doing awesome.

Same here with the weight loss and I am trying hard to be realistic - let's make a deal and chill out. Though I would like my knees not to hit my gut when I'm aero on my bike....

G is a bottle disaster...he makes it abundantly clear to me that bottles are inferior. It certainly makes for some frustrating moments in our lives, but at 17lbs I don't think he's starving. ;)

Your weight loss will come (this from the neurotic one pissed about these last 10lbs). Slow and steady wins this race.

Hang in there and don't be hard on yourself. My son never did take to the bottle, but he decided he could just wait it out for a few hours so it all worked out in the end.

I agree with the 9 months up, 9 months down thing too. The second time around definitely took more time, but you will get to where you want to be. Congrats on your first post-baby runs, doesn't that feel great??
