Lawwww'ville, Loooeyville, Lowville?

Is this for REAL?

If so, I may be heading there in '08....maybe not Florida! It's a heck of a lot closer...although probably more humid, if that's possible.

And I don't know how I feel about swimming in the Ohio River. And I train in Lake Erie, people. Ew.

Hmmmmm....somethin' to think about!

Oh, come to Florida in 08. I'm getting up my nerve to be there. It's a possibility I might be able to open up my beach home to a few (pre)Ironmen too. The marathon runs right past it :-)

River swim? Half of which must (by definition) be against the current?

NO THANKS!

I think the Vineman which takes place in the Russian River has you go upstream to start and then you get to go downstream - ahhhhhh. That might be kind of nice, actually! Isn't the Ohio river all cleaned up and shiney bright?

What really slays me about that article is the part about how any given Ironman sells out 2500 $400 slots in hours. Remarkable.

http://www.ironmanlouisville.com/ must convince you, right?

It's about time they open up another race. Great that it's so close to home!

That might be a possiblity. But I think we should create a team and break the 8 hour IM mark and win $100,000 at the Silverman Iron distance triathlon.

I hope so and yes the river is very clean! I was surprised. I have family there so hopefully I will do that one next in 08!

The terrian should be rolling but I don't think it will be as nasty as IW was. I haven't riden much around there, mostly run, and it is nice!

Any word on the date in '08?

Yeah other tris take place in rivers,(Austria? Switerland?) but I doubt if it's an out and back!

At the risk of tearing you in too many directions - are you SURE you wouldn't want to do IMWI 08 with me?? I mean seriously, I think we could even shop together. (Shopping partners, for me, is a very short list.) :)

It's for real, alright. And I will be sitting in front of a bank of computers on October 21st to sign up. After the great IM MOO shut out, I'm a man with a plan.

Assuming I make it, I'll gladly give what feedback I can after the race. I like this because, while further than Madison, it is far closer than any other option.

Ha! Everyone around here is talking about it and the river swim! I bet Louisville would be muggy hot, too!! Def worthy of an Ironman title for those who tackle it!
