Sports bras are awesome.

Not a whole lot to report, here...

Monday I swam in the lake with the tri club, then the rest of the week I've done some walks (I think I'm even done with wogging. Lower back hurts too much. We'll see.), a few rides on my Raleigh mountain bike (on the sidewalk, of course) and some yoga last night. I'm feeling a little better about the whole weight thing. You can't really fight biology. So either I continue to fight and get frustrated, or I just continue to eat as healthy as possible, do some kind of physical activity 5-6 times a week, and just go with it.

I had 2 different strangers on 2 different days this week tell me there's no way I look like I'm 6 months pregnant. That was certainly nice to hear after some of the ruder comments I've gotten lately. One of the people has a 4 month old at home and looks fantastic, and CLAIMS she gained 80 pounds with her first and 60+ with her second. ?!?!?!?! That just can't really be good, but hey, she looks fantastic so I guess what do I know? Makes me feel a little bit better about the number I've gained so far.

I've also discovered that the only bras that are really actually somewhat comfortable right now are my sports bras. Woo hoo! This triathlete has plenty of those.

I'm still missing triathlon, but trying to really focus on this new aspect of my life. Tris, I keep reminding myself, ain't goin' nowhere. But I'm still dreaming of future races, and have added my '08 race schedule. It's good to think about the future a little to get my mind off some of the nervousness and scared feelings that come. I wear my Ironman necklace every day and it helps me remember that sometimes things you think are impossible really aren't. The body is an amazing thing.

Tonight, a cookout with some family, and then this weekend I've got some fun stuff planned with friends. And whoa--I turn 30 in less than 2 weeks. That's pretty crazy...too bad I can't test out the new age group until next year! But 30-34, watch out cuz here I come! :)

You'll lose the weight in no time. Actually, it took a little more time that I had expected and had to remember that it took 9mos to pile it on and it wasn't going to fall off overnight.

I wore sportsbras throughout breastfeeding- it was the only time I've ever had boobs and I was pretty sure I'd have no use for a bigger bra size once the breastfeeding stopped. Now, I have no use for a sportsbra either...go figure.

Stronger is right. Don't know if you plan to breastfeed, but that is the quickest way to get the weight back off.

I wish I could wear sports bras all the time. In fact, I do practically live in them during the summer.

You've packed quite a 2008 season! Keep me posted on the Chicago triathlon. I grew up there (family still lives there) and I'm definitely planning on it for my '08 season.

A friend of mine swears by the sports bra during pregnancy philosophy too.

Yay for 30!! Mine is in Oct and it seems like every event I do now I think 'wow, this is the last time I do this one in F25-29!'.

Ok, I need swim cap advice. How do I put the $%$$%$ thing on without ending up with a wet head?? I read somewhere to wet it first but doesn't that defeat the purpose of keeping my hair dry during my lunch break??? Am I supposed to ponytail up and then put it on??

I'm 30 on Monday...I was terrified of moving up into another age group but ends up it's not all that bad. The weight will come off.

With your physical activity... you will have no problem losing the baby weight! The ultrasound pictures are wonderful! How real is that?!

Don't worry too much about weight gain, you'll be fine. I never gained more than 30 pounds, but I gained 15 in the first trimester every time. I lost it easily each time. Welcome to motherhood, missing your sport, there will always be this push/pull thing going on for the next 18 years or so!

Once again I am grateful to be a male!

Don't worry about the weight. Each kid will affect you differently. Saw this with each of my 4 kiddo's.

Oh my God, I live in sports bras these days, even to sleep!
I know what you mean about the weight -- I'm worried about it coming off, too. Everyone says "Oh, don't worry, you're so active, it will come off right away." But I still worry.
Hey, if nothing else, we're going to have some BUFF arms from all that baby-lifting! :)

And still, no pictures of the mom-to-be?

I had to scroll down to catch up- and I'm sorry, but I'm still laughing. Because the weight thing and the boob thing and the kicking thing just aaaagggghhhhhh. Then I almost screamed out loud when I saw the ultrasound pics-goosebumps. So, next time you get to meltdown, I'll send you some of my hidden in a secret vault pics of some of my pregnancy ensembles. I made good use of Brian's shirts, and was fortunate to get some great maternity clothes from friends-but at times it was just plain nasty. Hang in there, the time will pass. I just came home from Yoga with my girls and hey look, I can still touch my toes.

Gotta love those sports bras. And they are right about the breast feeding...I was only able to do if for a couple of months with each of mine, but the weight fell off nicely. You're not going to have any problem. You already active to being with, plus - taking care of a baby - talk about some intense cross training. And you're going to love it! Kinda like those long hard workouts, it will exhaust you, but the reward is worth it.

Sports Bras are pretty sweet.

I think I have a sportsbra in every color ever made, and I bought half of them when I was pregnant. Breastfeeding for sure makes the weight fall off, I mean hell look at Wes, and CRAP are you really gonna be in my age group now?

!*@#&$#!

Um. I'm OK with that...
