No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn

....or Jackson. Who will now be known as JayZ. Because he's big pimpin' and spendin' G's. Or maybe just big.

I have neither the time, brain capacity, nor energy to compose a witty paragraph post....so list format it is.

1. My friends, family, and coworkers are AMAZING, and I'm quite sure that without them I'd be a crying exhausted heap on the floor. Special props to my Mom who has been my own personal nurse on call...and maid...and coffee maker...and laundry folder...and baby rocker...etc. etc. etc.

2. Multiply that by about 57 and that's how amazing Matt has been. I thought I loved him before...this whole adventure takes that to another level entirely.

3. I sorta feel like a milk machine.

4. I've lost 28 pounds in 10 days. Can you say, water weight? Sadly, I still have quite a ways to go....but it's a start.

5. I'm getting really good at changing diapers in the dark.

6. I haven't slept more than 3 hours at a time since September 30.

7. Sometimes I'm not sure who cries more at 3am....JayZ or me.

8. Once again...Matt is amazing. Even more so at 3am when I am exhausted and not making sense and babbling.

9. JayZ is the cutest thing I've ever seen, and I can't believe that he's mine.

10. He's now 9 pounds 6 ounces, and has gained back all of his weight, so I must be doing something right.

11. Every day the world is a little more amazing to me, and every day I'm surprising myself and slowly getting the hang of this whole thing.

Wow! You sum up the whole experience really well, even in list form. Can't wait for more pics of your adorable one!

That's awesome. You aren't a milk machine. You are an Iron Milk Machine :-) Ooops. May you forever by known as IM MM :-)

I have moments where I can identify with cows, myself. But it's all worth it. He's obviously healthy and eating well.

Glad to hear that things are going well, and someday you will sleep again. Looking forward to some pictures of JayZ.

Sounds like things are going exactly the way they should be. I'm happy for you that you have so much help.

Mega congrats, Sara. That is one big boy to have on your first go around. My son was in that weight range, with a super sized cranium, and Mrs. Pol had to go with a C-section with him.

It's eight days in, and you have every right to be a bit out of sorts. Between hormone juggling, sleep deprivation, and one HUGE change in your life, we'll grant you a bit of room.

He's a beautiful baby. Enjoy the ride, because it's a fun one. And it's one thing that makes Ironman look like a walk in the park.

congrates on the new addition.

it'll calm down soon. Just sleep when you can and remember how fast they grow.

The really great news, 12 pounds seems to be the magic number for sleeping through the night-with Baby Z's little head start, you could be looking forward to longer stretches of sleep by Christmas. :-) Unless of course you do what we did, and keep #1 in our room and grab her to feed her everytime she cried- 6 months later, we moved her and we all got more sleep-live and learn. Hang in there, you are almost through the most difficult T1 you will ever do.

It's crazy and hairy but love and appreciate these first precious days.

Good to hear that all is well- except for the sleep part! Nice that you have super support too-that certainly helps at times.
Good thing you went into this an IronWoman...can you imagine how exhausted women are who don't have the endurance background?
Hang in there...it just gets sweeter and sweeter!

IM MOOOOOOOOOO. OK that was tacky, but it was just too easy. Milk machine, indeed.

If you keep losing 2.8 pounds per day, you'll completely vanish before Christmas. MAKE IT STOP!

Hang in there, girl. The sleep will come, eventually. I would tell you how long it was before my youngest ever slept all night long for one night, but I'm not sure if you can handle it right now, so let's just say it can only get better from here, AND - it's so totally worth it!!

Aww, Babies are so amazing, aren't they? Sounds like you're doing great! (even with the crying - don't worry, it's temporary)

I was a double cow myself for awhile. It's a very weird thing to take in.

Way to go, Iron Mom!
