A Devilishly Good Run

Snow today.

SnowsnowsnowsnowsnowIamsoexcited.

I love my classroom, not just for what I get to do in it, but for the view. I have four HUGE windows, with evergreens outside, and it looked like a SCREEN SAVER today outside my window.

I was so excited and couldn't wait to get outside, so on my lunch, I put on my red coat and black plaid hat and drove to Caribou to use a gift card for a tasty drink. Mmmmmmmmmmm. Snow. Love. IT.

Stayed at work late to get things done, came home, had an apple with some peanut butter (a little piece of heaven) and changed into my FUN new Nike running pants that I HEART, my Pearl Izumi cool gloves with the blue flower, and my Brooks cold weather running coat. My snow running Nike Storm shoes. My lemon ice lip gloss.

Snow. SNOWsnowsnowsnowsnowsnow!

I drove to meet my Soler friends. Lots were there: Dr. John, New Zealand Pat, Ultra Irene, Electric Mike and Jen. We took off!

23 degrees. Ice and blustery wind. A few inches of fresh snow.

I CAN'T FREAKIN' GET ENOUGH OF THIS!

6.66 glorious miles later, I ran with Electric Mike for an average pace of 9:29, through the wind and the snow and the ice and I felt like doing somersaults and making snow angels.

Get out there. Bundle up like Randy on a Christmas Story. Run in the snow with friends, and tell me it's NOT FUN. I dare you.

Warm chocolate milk and a bowl of chili later, and I can't wait for another round.

SNOWSNOWSNOWSNOW I heart snow!

We got a few good inches 2 days ago too. I love running at night when all of the snow is so bright that it lights up the whole sky. I got a 6.5 miler in last night. It was awesome. Temps in the 20s? You guys are having a heat wave!

Sheesh. About time the snow came. This is O-HI-O, eh?

Nice run. I hope to make it out for a group run soon!

ARGH! Still no snow in NJ, but it's COOLLLD! My hair froze 3 times already today and I've just gone from car to gym to car to home. ACKK! I guess I'm a southern girl at heart...

Two hours away yet nary a flake. Not a single mile ran either. Sigh.

I wish I shared your enthusiasm for snow, but I agree that watching it outside my work window is a pleasure. It feels like living in a snow globe. Looks like more is on the way by the weekend!

I am glad you have it and not me. I prefer my warm weather and rather heart some chocolate and cheesecake.

Isn't it great to be a kid? I missed my run last night just so I could go sled riding with my son. It was a beautiful night too.

Caribou rocks! Every time I pass through the Minneapolis Airport I pick up a pound of the mocha java... mmmm. Good stuff.

I heart running in the winter with snow on the ground. I haven't made it out yet since we got our bit of snow over the weekend. I'll have to take care of that real soon.

So jealous. I would run in the snow if we ever had any. We had one last year and it was so fun - ice pelting us in the eyes the whole time! Someone asked us if we needed a ride!!!! So fun!

OK. You talked me into it.

Although there is no snow here. It is cold and if you guys can run in 23 degree weather, I can at least tough it out in 35 degree weather.

Thanks for the inspiration!

um, not so much. I have a treadmill for a reason. as much as I b!tch about running in 90 degrees with 85% humidity in August, I'd rather do that than run in cold and wet and ice. First off, I'm rather prone to falling on my a$s as it is, so I'm not taking any other chances with slippery sidewalks. I live in Texas by choice! You can have the snow!

Remember the snow freshman year at Miami? So much fun making the snow turtle and snow couch!

Snow, it finally feels like a normal winter around the midwest. Sound like good times, running with friends is always good.

Randy: I CAN'T PUT MY ARMS DOWN!

Make all the snow angels you can handle, girlie. I'm pretty sure the Kingdom is made of snow-angel-making-children-at-heart.

You are too funny!! I'm loving it too, though I've switched to skis for the venture.
